First Parent Review of The Playground OC

Hi Gary!
This is John Licitra, whom you met in LA and again at the Costa Mesa location. Gotta admit when I first came into this experience, I was a little skeptical but now I love it! You and your team are exceptional educators and provide a fun and nurturing environment conducive to growth and development.
Bravo!

Orange County – Here we come!

Due to growing demand for The Playground’s classes we’re opening new satellite studios in Costa Mesa!

Gary Spatz The Playground at California Bank and Trust in Orange County

Until now, Orange County residents hoping to involve their children in our professional level acting classes have been forced to spend long hours driving to and from Century City. With the introduction of The Playground’s new facilities, located in the California Bank and Trust Building at The Offices of South Coast Plaza, Orange County families will have access to “Hollywood’s” best kid’s acting program in their own neighborhood. The new facilities contain 3 studios and will provide room for several beginning, advanced and professional classes each weekend.

Programs are available for children ages 6 to 18 at all experience levels. The Playground facility in Orange County will provide the same curriculum as the Los Angeles location and also allow the children to participate in the big events at the Los Angeles location (Events like: Audition Nights, Performance Nights and the Red Carpet Graduation Gala at AMC Century City Theaters).  The O.C. studios are “state-of-the-industry” and provide theater style seating, Sony playback monitors, HD cameras, studio-lighting and a direct video link to the L.A. campus. Gary Spatz and his staff of professional acting teachers nurture each student’s creativity to help them excel at on-camera work. The staff are dedicated to helping young actors develop a personal technique for television and film. They train the young performer in the craft of acting and educate the parents about the business.

Gary Talks About Auditions for Children in Film

“Acting is an art form and a craft. If someone, of any age, plans to become a professional actor, the industry expects them to have very specific skills. An actor, like a professional athlete, must have the ability to perform on cue, at a specific time, regardless of their age.  The ability to perform “on demand” in the casting room requires a real commitment from actors, one that only comes from preparation, passion and practice. If you are serious about acting then you should attend an acting program.  If acting is your career, then you need a program that includes special audition training. After all, the best way to get better at acting is to practice your acting…the best way to get better at auditions is to practice auditioning.” – Gary Spatz
